Aloha from the State Capitol
Thank you for visiting this web site which is here to assist you in communicating with me, learning more about state government and finding out what's happening in our community of West Hawai'i.
Over the past few years, I've seen lots of progress on making our roads safer, addressing the needs of our growing and aging population, reducing the cost of energy, reforming education, and supporting agriculture, to name a few. In the upcoming 2011 Session, we will need to focus on what needs to be done to get the economy revitalized.
Please consider writing to me repevans@capitol.hawaii.gov and sharing your views. For example, what do you think are the best ways your legislature can help you? When it comes to education what matters the most: 1) access to quality preschools; 2) increasing student loans; 3) decrease class size; or 4) more financial support for charter schools? Do you support tax relief to help businesses expand or to attract new businesses?
If there is anything I or my staff can do for you, please do not hesitate to contact us. I encourage you to browse this web site to learn about the legislative process and to submit testimony on issues important to you. Check out the other links we've provided on the programs and services of government agencies.
When in Honolulu stop by, and if you have the time and interest, we can also arrange a tour of the State Capitol for you.
A hui hou, malama pono
